Snowboard season is officially here. Wild Mountain fired up two rope tows for its bunny hill and terrain park yesterday, October 7, and with a 24″ base, it was deeper than many resorts mid-season last year. For those of you not blessed enough to live in Taylors Falls, Minnesota, here’s a video of their Sunday in the park.
Wild Mountain cranked up its snow making guns just before midnight on October 6 and was ready to go by 8:30 am the following morning. The resort has been the first Midwest hill to open for the last 35 years, but 2012 marks just the second time it was the first in the US. October 7 also marks the earliest opening date in the resort’s history, beating the previous October 18 record, set in ’92, by nearly two weeks.
