Resident headed to USASA National Ski and Snowboard Competition

Bobby Sullivan, a 16-year-old junior at Chelmsford High School, has recently been invited to compete in the upcoming USASA National Ski and Snowboard Competition to be held early April at Copper Mountain Ski Resort in Colorado.  Bobby was selected as the top qualifier of the region in the 16-18 year old age group for slope style skiers and is currently ranked fourth nationally.  Ski Slope style, an event recently added to the 2014 Olympics, is one of the most popular events in the Winter X Games.  Competitors ski through a terrain park over various jumps and rails performing a variety of freestyle maneuvers.  Judges look for amplitude, technical difficulty, as well as cleanness of the run.

Bobby has won many local and regional competitions, and has appeared in various advertising for Nashoba Valley Ski Area.  He was also selected to compete in the USASA rail jam at the XGames in Aspen Colorado.
