This is a big weekend for ski and snowboard shows at opposite ends of the U.S. – Boston and Sacramento.
At the Boston show, Vermont ski areas, who know a lot about hurricane damage and clean-up thanks to last year’s Hurricane Irene, are offering ski show attendees a way to assist in the relief efforts for Hurricane Sandy and get something in return for their contribution.
Everyone who makes a minimum $10 donation to the Red Cross (Text “REDCROSS” to 90999), or gives online at Red Cross, will receive a voucher for either a free or discounted lift ticket, entrance into a grand prize ski and stay package, and a coupon for a free pint of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream.
In addition, Sugarbush will match all donations dollar-for-dollar up to a maximum total of $25,000, Okemo will give the first 1,000 people who make a donation of at least $50 over Thanksgiving weekend one complimentary midweek one-day adult lift ticket and also Long Trail Brewing will match the first fifty $10 donations.

Here is a look at some more major ski and snowboard shows and expos that are scheduled around North America for the rest of November.
Remember, these shows are in major metropolitan areas and there are some in smaller cities, as well, that I don’t have the dates for. So, watch the Sports or Entertainment sections of your local paper for dates and times of local ski shows near you.
