The Park City Ski Education Foundation (PCSEF) announced today that Jesse Hunt, currently the U.S. Ski Team Alpine Director at the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Association (USSA), the Park City Ski Team as General Manager and Program Director to join on 1 June, 2009.
hunt succeeds Dave Galusha, after the administration of the Park City Ski Team goes for the last 13 years to national prominence at the Alpine Ski Club racing scene into retirement, while the PCST alumni like Olympic gold medalist Ted Ligety, Steve Nyman , Bryon Friedman, TJ Lanning brilliantly, Megan McJames, Hailey Duke, Tim Jitloff and others on the World Cup.
“We started a deliberate succession plan late last year. When this opportunity presented itself to us it was the perfect fit for our club. The fact that we could win in the situation, a person of Jesse Hunt caliber is a testament to the success and growth that the Park City Ski Team has achieved under Dave Galusha, “said George Woods Baker, President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees PCSEF. “I am obviously a phenomenal run in the last 13 years. It is really one of those bittersweet moments for me. The process of finding my successor has happened faster than I expected, but I think this is an exceptional opportunity for the team and some that they do not want to miss. And, of course, I’d be happy to be able to continue with the team in other ways am, “said Galusha.
USSA hunt was in 1993 and initially held a variety of positions, including European Cup coach and World Cup technical coach. In 2002, Hunt was named the USSA Alpine director position and recently a part of what is arguably the most successful piece of alpine ski team results in U.S. history, the four overall World Cup titles, four medals at Olympic Games and 18 World Championship medals were covers.
Hunt is very familiar with the Park City Ski started a team with his career with the club back in the early 1990s. “My years with the U.S. Ski Team are enormous and I am looking forward to my coaching, training and management experience, the Park City Ski Team,” Hunt said. “I started my career as a trainer at the Park City Ski Team and have almost 20 years ago in Park City, since so lived the way back, run the program and give something back to the community this is a special and exciting next step in makes my career. I look forward to leading ski program, which is already regarded as one of the strongest in the country, “added Hunt.
